Giving Tuesday with Stems for Seniors
What happens when wedding pros come together? Impact, connection, and joy. This Giving Tuesday, our Wed Society | Columbus Cares team joined Stems for Seniors to help turn leftover wedding and event florals into bouquets delivered to seniors across Central Ohio. It was a powerful reminder that our industry creates community far beyond the wedding day.
About Stems for Seniors
Stems for Seniors collects donated flowers, repurposes them into individual bouquets, and delivers them to seniors to “spread happiness through flowers.” Since 2018, they’ve delivered more than 30,000 bouquets, including 10,500 in 2024 alone. Their recipients include LifeCare Alliance, Kobacker Hospice House, senior living communities, memory care centers, and hospitals.
Why Wed Society Columbus Got Involved
Volunteering with Stems for Seniors allowed our team and local wedding pros to come together, give back, and share the heart of our industry: generosity, collaboration, and connection. It’s one thing to celebrate a wedding day, and another to extend the joy!
How You Can Support
Stems for Seniors welcomes volunteers for flower pickup, arranging, delivery, and behind-the-scenes prep. They also accept donations of empty food cans, pint-size mason jars, ribbon, fabric, vases, and other supplies. Monetary contributions help sustain their free services as an Ohio 501c3 nonprofit. Spreading the word to couples and vendors with florals to donate also makes a big impact.
