For January, we’re highlighting a stunning tented wedding hosted at a private residence. From dramatic aisle florals to a beautifully constructed tent that transformed the property into an elevated celebration space, Shelby and Chad’s wedding was a true reflection of what’s possible when vision, planning, and artistry come together seamlessly.

How the Couple Met

Shelby and Chad’s love story began in a wonderfully organic way. The two first met at a bonfire Chadwick was hosting before he left for college. Shelby was a grade behind him at the time, and what started as a casual meeting grew into a genuine friendship. They stayed close for a few years before officially dating, building a strong foundation that naturally led them to the wedding day they would later share.

The Night Before

The night before the wedding, Shelby and Chadwick hosted an intimate rehearsal dinner at New Albany Country Club, bringing together their closest family and friends ahead of the celebration. The evening felt warm and intentional, giving everyone a chance to slow down, connect, and soak in the excitement leading into the wedding day. Set against the timeless backdrop of the club, the dinner was filled with meaningful conversations and quiet anticipation, making it the perfect start to their wedding weekend.

The Wedding Day

On October 11, 2025, Shelby Lynn Mitchell and Chadwick Daniel Wilson celebrated their marriage at a private residence, hosting both their ceremony and reception at the same meaningful location. The setting allowed for a completely personalized experience, transforming the property into a refined and welcoming celebration shared with their closest family and friends. Lauren Anne Photography captured the day with a refined and romantic eye, preserving every emotional moment and thoughtful detail, while Ellen DiSorbo documented the celebration through videography.

Shelby began the day getting ready alongside her closest friends and family. Her beauty team included hairstylist Sarah Mohre and makeup artist Andrea Perchinske, who created a timeless look with soft glam curls and glowing, natural makeup. Shelby wore a Monique Lhuilier gown from La Jeune Mariée, pairing her bridal look with Vince Camuto shoes and jewelry from Worthington Jewelers. Chadwick complemented her classic style in a suit from The Black Tux, with his wedding band also from Worthington Jewelers.

The ceremony featured a striking floral aisle installation designed by Inspired Settings, immediately setting the tone for the day with elegance and intention. Surrounded by lush arrangements and beneath the open sky, Shelby and Chadwick exchanged vows in a space that felt both intimate and grand. The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s brother, Chandler Wilson, adding a deeply personal and meaningful touch to the moment.

Following the ceremony, guests transitioned seamlessly into cocktail hour which took place inside of another space at the family’s private estate. Guests enjoyed soft seating, passed hors d’oeuvres by Together & Co and a lively bar setup. Soon, the guests found their seats at the reception beneath a beautifully designed tent. The space was brought to life with specialty rentals from Aiden & Grace, draping by Serendipity Designs, and additional rentals from Event Source and ACC Party Rental. Together, these elements created a warm yet elevated atmosphere.

Guests enjoyed thoughtfully prepared cuisine by Together & Co carefully curated multi course plated dinner that perfectly complemented the fall setting. Dessert followed with cupcakes and the couple’s cake by Sweet & Shiny, which included a playful nod to Shelby and Chadwick’s beloved dog.
Additional sweets from Resch’s Bakery delighted guests, while late night bites from Harvest Pizza offered the perfect ending to the celebration.

After dinner and dessert, Shelby changed into an adorable blush toned gown, adding a playful and romantic touch to the evening and the perfect look for dancing and celebrating. Music carried the celebration into the evening, with DJ Jomar Shaffer keeping the energy high and indie-soul duo Honey and Blue provided additional entertainment throughout the night.

Advice to Couples

While there were countless memorable moments throughout the day, Shelby shared that one of the most meaningful was the time spent getting ready before the ceremony. Those quiet moments offered a chance to slow down, be present, and take in the excitement before the day officially began.

“I really could have used even just one more hour before the ceremony started,” Shelby shared. It’s a piece of advice she now passes along to couples planning their own wedding day, encouraging them to build in a little extra time to fully enjoy every moment.

Final Thoughts

The greatest lesson Shelby and Chadwick took away from their wedding planning journey was the importance of time. Even with careful planning, the day moves faster than expected, and building in extra breathing room can make all the difference.
