Alex & Alicia’s Wedding at Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farm

Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Columbus, all made possible by incredibly talented vendors and thoughtful couples who trust us with their stories. Each month, our editorial team selects one standout celebration to feature—one that feels truly special for its creativity, intention, and beauty.

This December, we’re thrilled to highlight Alex and Alicia’s stunning wedding at Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farm. With immersive design elements, meaningful storytelling woven into every detail, and a setting that invited guests to slow down and connect, their celebration was a beautiful reflection of who they are together.

How the Couple Met

Alex and Alicia met during a one-year pre-medical program designed for career changers. What began as a shared academic journey quickly grew into something deeper, rooted in curiosity, mutual support, and a sense of adventure. Over time, their connection unfolded through meaningful experiences.  None more defining than a canoe trip through the Adirondacks, where they realized they wanted to share the rest of their lives together.

Rehearsal Dinner + Transportation

The night before the wedding, Alex and Alicia hosted their rehearsal dinner at The Guild House, enjoying an intimate meal with close family and friends as they celebrated the upcoming day. Guests and the wedding party were transported between venues in style thanks to Limitless Limo, ensuring everyone arrived relaxed and on time for the celebrations.

The Wedding Day

Alex and Alicia exchanged vows at Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farm, a one-of-a-kind open-air historic greenhouse surrounded by manicured gardens and a charming courtyard. The perfect setting for their magical garden celebration. Their full-service planner, Meredith of Auburn & Ivory Creative, guided every aspect of the day, from logistics to design, ensuring each element was cohesive and intentional. Every detail reflected their love story, from stained-glass-inspired table numbers to a seating chart and welcome sign rising from a reflecting pool, along with custom signature cocktails that showcased their shared passion for mixology. Together, these thoughtful touches brought their personalities and story beautifully to life.

Getting Ready

The bridal party got ready on-site at Jorgensen Farms, allowing for a relaxed and seamless start to the day. The bride and bridesmaids received hair and makeup services from professional artist Beauty by Seda.

Alicia looked effortlessly elegant in her pleated strapless Ines Di Santo ballgown from Bergdorf Goodman, paired with a veil from Homa Bridal and a wedding band from Automic Gold. Alex wore a classic Hugo Boss suit, finished with a wedding band from Manly Bands. Bridesmaids wore varied attire that complemented the organic setting and allowed each individual style to shine.

Ceremony and Special Details

As guests arrived, they were welcomed by a seating chart and welcome sign that appeared to rise effortlessly from a reflecting pool. Crafted on site, the installation was inspired by the bride’s favorite film, The Fountain, and a beloved poem. As planner Meredith of Auburn & Ivory shared, the design was an homage to The Fountain and the line “from the center of my life came a great fountain, deep blue shadows on azure seawater” from The Wild Iris by Louise Glück, serving as a poetic visual expression of the couple’s shared story and the journey that led them there.

The ceremony unfolded beneath asymmetric green draping by Serendipity Designs, beautifully complemented by natural light streaming through the historic greenhouse. Florals by The Budding Florist Cinci added movement and texture throughout the space while allowing the surrounding gardens to remain the focal point. Every meaningful moment was thoughtfully documented by Lauren Lee Photography, with Panda Wedding Films capturing the day in a cinematic, story-driven way.

Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, guests moved into cocktail hour in the charming courtyard, where they enjoyed Alex and Alicia’s custom signature cocktails, a playful nod to their shared love of mixology. The bar menu and invitations, designed by Lumaca Paper, perfectly complemented the couple’s whimsical theme. The bride’s creation, the Dubious Drink, featured gin, shiso syrup made by Alicia, lime juice, a splash of club soda, a salted plum rim, and a bone stirrer with a shiso leaf garnish, a playful tribute to one of her favorite video games. The groom’s cocktail, Water of Life, blended vodka, blue curaçao, lime juice, and a spicy homemade simple syrup, garnished with a gummy worm on a sharp cocktail stirrer.

Reception

The reception took place in the main hall, where gorgeous green draping provided a stunning backdrop for the evening. Guests enjoyed the thoughtfully designed seating meadow, a relaxed and inviting alternative to traditional tables that encouraged mingling and conversation throughout the celebration. Linens were rented from BBJ La Tavola, with additional rentals provided by PR Rentals and Aiden & Grace. Jorgensen Farms catered the evening with a menu full of fresh, locally sourced options.

The couple also incorporated a traditional Chinese liquor into the celebration. As Alicia shared, “We served ‘baijiu’ at our reception, which literally means ‘clear liquor’ and is an incredibly strong spirit that is a staple at Chinese celebrations. Because of how intense a drinking experience it provides, it is usually served in tiny goblets much smaller than a shot glass. Baijiu is not for the faint of heart, and it was a lot of fun watching our guests try it over the course of the evening.”

Stained-glass-inspired table numbers honored the couple’s fascination with ancient ruins, including Tintern Abbey and The Cloisters at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, adding a romantic and historic touch. Of course, no celebration would be complete without dessert. Guests delighted in Alex and Alicia’s cookies-and-cream flavored cake from Nursery Lane Baking Co. Inspired by Wedgwood Jasperware, the cake was as beautiful as it was delicious. Guests danced the night away to live music from Bigg Badd Band and enjoyed ice cream from Graeter’s Ice Cream to end the evening on the sweetest note.

Vendor Insights

Planner Meredith of Auburn & Ivory shared that Alex and Alicia were a dream to plan with from the moment they began working together in early 2024 through their wedding day in September 2025. Intentional, creative, and deeply thoughtful, the couple infused their wedding with meaningful details inspired by their story, from custom cocktails to artful installations and design elements rooted in history, film, and experience-driven moments.

Rebecca Chapman, Jorgensen Farms Event Coordinator, noted,
“From the moment Alex and Alicia booked Oak Grove as their venue, I knew it was going to be an extra special day. They had a dream team of vendors that transformed Oak Grove into a lush, ancient-ruins garden. Decorated with asymmetrical drapery and florals winding down the aisle and up into the greenhouse beams, their ceremony space perfectly reflected their beauty as a couple. Alex and Alicia were one of the sweetest couples I’ve worked with—they were so genuine and excited to get married. Every meeting was full of smiles, laughter, and love, and I am so grateful to have played a role in their big day.”
