Set at The Ohio Governor’s Residence and Heritage Garden, the couple worked alongside an exceptional vendor team led by Adoration Weddings & Events to create a wedding experience that felt timeless, immersive, and unforgettable.

How the Couple Met: From Broadway Beginnings to Forever

Abby and Michael’s story began at the Broadway show Beetlejuice, where the two first met as friends before eventually beginning a relationship right before COVID. What followed were years of long-distance, moving states for one another, and eventually building a life together in New York City.

Their relationship and shared experiences became the inspiration behind so many meaningful details throughout the wedding day, from custom NYC-inspired table names to nostalgic food choices that reflected both of their upbringings and favorite memories together.

Throughout the evening, guests experienced thoughtful nods to the couple’s relationship and family traditions. Lovely Arrows Designs contributed elegant signage details that complemented the timeless aesthetic of the day while helping personalize the guest experience from beginning to end.

Meaningful Food Moments & Nostalgic Late-Night Favorites

If there was one thing guests couldn’t stop talking about, it was how personal every part of the guest experience felt, especially the food.

Throughout the evening, Abby and Michael incorporated meaningful nods to both their relationship and family traditions through carefully selected desserts, hors d’oeuvres, and late-night favorites that reflected different chapters of their story together.

One especially sentimental detail came during cocktail hour through the couple’s passed appetizers.

Michael’s grandmother graciously lent the hexagon biscuit cutters she uses to make her signature country ham and biscuits which were cutters that were originally gifted to her as a wedding present years ago. Serving the family recipe became a meaningful way to honor generations before them while sharing a piece of family history with guests.

When reflecting on the planning process, Abby and Michael shared how important it was to approach every decision together.

“Each decision made and every step of the process is more fun with your partner involved. We made sure that each of us had a voice when making a decision, and it felt so incredible to walk into the day knowing we built this together, just like our past, present and future.”

The couple also shared how impactful working with wedding planner, Elena Markwood of Adoration Weddings & Events was throughout the planning process, helping bring their vision to life while allowing them to fully enjoy the experience.

“Abby and Michael were truly an absolute dream to work with. They were kind, appreciative, and so genuinely excited to see their vision come to life.
